We have a full timetable of events for the following year, Starting at the British Fly Fair International, which is held annually at Stafford Showground usually on the 2nd weekend in February. This, as the name suggests, is an Internationally renowned flyfishing show held in 3 large halls at the showground.
As well as all sorts of tackle and gear associated with Flyfishing, there are local fishing clubs and many national and international exhibitors, well known International guest speakers and a large contingent of fly tyers. We have a stand there for anyone to visit and chat with our team, whether they are disabled and want to take up the sport, or are able bodied and would like to help others to enjoy the sport.
Then throughout the season we have usually, one monthly outing on one of the Midlands reservoirs, mainly Eyebrook. Towards the end of June each year the Home International, of 4 days total endurance, is held in rotation by England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales.
We have a ‘friendly’ competition in September between our members and the Eyebrook Regulars for the Prestigious Blue Trout Trophy. All our days afloat throughout the year are for enjoyment, and the only serious one is the International Eliminator, and also this is the only day afloat that is open solely to our disabled members, otherwise any of our members can fish any of our other days out.
